Las Vegas National Hardware Show Goes From Strength To
Strength
The American National Hardware Show is set to be bigger and better in 2005. This
year’s show held in May in Las Vegas was an overwhelming success with more than
2,300 exhibitors and a record number of visitors. The combination of the Paint &
Decorating Show and the National Hardware Show meant buyers enjoyed a larger
presentation of paint, and paint-related tools and accessories because of the
combination of the two shows.
The show, which has proved to be significantly better attended and more popular than
the AHMA Chicago Show, will celebrate its 60th year in 2005 and will be held in
conjunction with The Gourmet Show. The Gourmet Show will feature gourmet
housewares and home improvement products, with organizers hoping it will attract more
specialty retailers – and more female visitors.
Next year’s show will occupy two exhibition centres – the Sands Expo and Convention
Centre and the Las Vegas Convention Centre – and it is expected that the show will
occupy 550,000 net sq ft of exhibit space. It will run from May 17 – 19, 2005.
Meanwhile, in the UK it has been announced that a dedicated tools show will be held
alongside the DIY & Garden Show in London next January. Totally Tools will take place
at Earls Court 2 in London from January 16 – 18, 2005. “The Show will include
professional and industrial tools for use by tradesmen and all trades and industries,”
said director Christopher Leonard-Morgan. “Entry will be open to retailers, wholesalers,
merchants and specialist tools distributors, but not to end-users.”
